DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Johns Manville (JM), a global building products manufacturer and a Berkshire Hathaway company, today announced that JM Corbond® oc SPF has met requirements for application without a prescriptive ignition barrier in sealed unoccupied attics for commercial and residential projects, increasing the versatility of JM’s complete line of spray foam insulation products.

By meeting requirements for application without an ignition barrier in attics, Johns Manville’s easily applied and high performing low density open-cell spray foam can now be installed more cost effectively than ever before. The new approval eliminates the time and money required to apply a separate fire protective coating. The achievement is detailed in a code compliant research report, CCRR-1079, from Intertek.

JM Corbond oc SPF is a two-component, low-density, nonstructural insulation system designed for commercial, residential and industrial applications. Its low-density nature allows for tremendous yield, while still providing important air isolation, versatile R-values, excellent acoustical performance, and critical air sealing. This results in better air quality and increased comfort for building occupants. JM is proud to offer a broad family of high-performance, high-yield spray polyurethane foam solutions that can stand alone or be used in hybrid systems to meet a wide array of performance requirements and project budgets.
